Frequently Asked Questions

When was Delta AirElite established and what is the association with Delta Air Lines?

Delta AirElite has been operating business jets since 1984. Today, the company operates a diverse fleet of business jets strategically located throughout the United States. Delta AirElite is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, the world’s largest airline.

How does Delta AirElite fulfill my trips?

Delta AirElite is a charter operator with its own FAR Part 135 Operating Certificate. Delta AirElite owns and leases a dedicated fleet of aircraft to support its Fleet Membership and Fleet Charter programs. In addition to these aircraft, Delta AirElite has developed relationships with select, top-tier third-party FAR Part 135 charter operators providing access to more than 1,000 aircraft. With aircraft based throughout the U.S., Delta AirElite is always standing by to make sure you get where you need to go. Delta AirElite Affiliates must meet AirElite’s own exacting standards for safety, security and service, as well as stringent guidelines set by third-party safety audit firm ARG/US, Inc.

What is Delta AirElite’s safety record?

From the very beginning, Delta AirElite has maintained the highest operating standards and maintenance practices and has been accident-free. Delta AirElite is the longest continuous holder of the coveted ARG/US "Platinum" safety rating of any operation in the world.

How does the Efficiency Bonus work for Fleet Membership?

Round-trips may qualify for our Efficiency Bonus™, a unique program that rewards you with up to 35% more flight time than you actually purchased. With a 25-Hour Fleet Membership, that could translate into 7.5 additional hours of free flight time. By leaving and returning to the same airport in a round trip and meeting the minimum flight time requirement qualifications, savings can be passed on to members.

Example of a qualifying Efficiency Bonus two-way trip:

A 25-Hour Fleet Member making a round-trip between New York and Chicago in the same day that takes 4 hours of occupied flight time actually requires only 3.2 hours of membership time under the Efficiency Bonus program. That’s because the member flew a round-trip leaving from New York (HPN) and returning to New York (HPN) in the same day and was debited only 80% of actual flight time. So the member receives .8 hours of bonus flight time, which is like getting next week’s New York to Philadelphia flight on the house!

How does Fleet Charter differ from Fleet Membership?

Fleet Charter lets you plan and purchase your trip on a pay-as-you-go basis. You simply contact us when you need an aircraft, and Delta AirElite finds the right type of aircraft to meet your specific trip needs. Charter pricing is calculated by multiplying the aircraft’s hourly retail charter rate times the total flight hours. Charter trips booked through the new online tool now also provide guaranteed pricing and guaranteed availability.

Fleet Membership allows you to always have the best cost option, have guaranteed aircraft availability with as little as 12 hours notice, and pricing is also guaranteed even on peak days for cost certainty. Membership jet card pricing is based on debiting "occupied" flight time only. Fleet members also receive instant Medallion access benefits through the Delta Sky Miles program and Hertz membership benefits.

What forms of payment does Delta AirElite accept?

With Delta AirElite's Fleet Charter or Fleet Membership programs, customers and members may fund via wire or credit card. Additionally, Delta AirElite is a partner in the American Express® Private Jet Services Program, offering exclusive benefits to Card members who purchase a 10 or 25-hour Fleet Membership jet card with their Platinum Card®. Call 1-877-DAE-JETS for more details on this program.

Is there an escrow program available for Fleet Membership?

Yes. Delta AirElite, in partnership with a national bank, offers customers the option to enroll in the Membership Balance Assurance program. This program holds your Fleet Membership balance in a non-interest-bearing escrow account. As you use your membership hours, the proportionate flight charges are released to Delta AirElite.
