CINCINNATI, Oct. 22, 2002 - Delta AirElite Business Jets is increasing service options for customers by adding a Learjet 45 business jet and a Challenger 601 business jet to its expanding nationwide charter fleet capacity. Both aircraft are joining the Delta AirElite fleet through charter management agreements. The Learjet 45 is based at the Fort Wayne International Airport in Fort Wayne, Ind., and the Challenger 601 is based at the Palm Beach International airport in West Palm Beach, Fla.
With charter availability on more than 275 business jets strategically positioned throughout the United States, Delta AirElite is using charter management agreements as one way to help meet growing demand for exclusive charter service. Management agreements allow Delta AirElite to increase aircraft availability without large capital commitments and to offer on-demand charter service with a broad base of high-quality corporate jets. The agreements also offer an attractive option for corporations and aircraft owners wanting to lower aircraft ownership costs by having their corporate jets certified for Delta AirElite's commercial charter operations.
"Adding a LearJet 45 and Challenger 601 to our growing fleet allows Delta AirElite to expand service coverage and increase convenience for our customers," said Michael B. Green, president and chief executive officer of Delta AirElite Business Jets. "The Learjet 45 rivals most midsize jets by comfortably seating eight passengers and offering a range beyond any light jet or super-light jet in production today. The 10-passenger Challenger 601 offers customers the comfort and convenience of the business jet industry's widest passenger cabin and is equipped with in-flight amenities that provide a productive work environment."
Delta AirElite customers also have the added advantage of the Delta AirElite Rewards program (airelite.com/rewards). The program gives customers the opportunity to earn Medallion™ status in the Delta SkyMiles program by accumulating flight segment credits on Delta AirElite. Delta AirElite is offering its charter customers the opportunity to earn triple Delta SkyMiles segments for charter flights operated through Dec. 31, 2002
