Five Lear 60 Business Jets Added to Program
CINCINNATI, April 3, 2003 -- Delta AirElite Business Jets, Inc. (www.airelite.com) has arranged for exclusive access to five additional Lear 60 business jets that it will operate to support the Delta AirElite Fleet Membership program. The program offers companies and individuals the opportunity to purchase travel on Delta AirElite's corporate jet fleet in blocks of 25, 50 or 100 hours of flight time, and the flexibility to choose the desired aircraft size on a trip-by-trip basis.
Delta AirElite Fleet Membership now employs a dedicated fleet of nine modern business jets providing dependability, guaranteed availability and excellent service normally associated with higher-priced travel solutions. It is the first and only private jet membership program with a fleet of aircraft specifically dedicated to fulfilling membership travel.
"Since our announcement last month, customer interest has been strong, proving the need and the value of the Fleet Membership program," said Michael B. Green, president and chief executive officer of Delta AirElite. "These additional aircraft will help ensure that Delta AirElite customers receive high levels of prompt and professional service from an industry leader."
A wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), Delta AirElite Business Jets, Inc., has 18 years of experience operating business jets and providing aircraft management and flight operations for Fortune 500 companies. Delta AirElite is the only business jet charter company owned by a major U.S. airline.
The Lear 60 offers transcontinental capabilities at speeds up to 550 mph. Featuring a stand-up cabin, the Lear 60 has ample cabin space with amenities designed for in-flight comfort and productivity.
The Delta AirElite Fleet Membership program requires no aircraft ownership. The program allows members to select a membership level based on travel needs and utilization (Silver Level for 25 hours, Gold Level for 50 hours, and Platinum Level for 100 hours) combined with the member's preference of a light, midsize or large-cabin jet. Members can fly all or some of their purchased hours as one-way flights. The Delta AirElite "Efficiency Bonus™" is a unique advantage of the program, allowing members to increase their flight hours up to 40 percent at no additional cost when flying two-way trips, making the membership even more cost-effective.
By becoming a member of Delta AirElite Fleet Membership, customers automatically receive the full privileges of Delta SkyMiles Medallion™ program when traveling on Delta. Based on the membership level and aircraft category selected, members will qualify for the corresponding Silver Medallion, Gold Medallion, or Platinum Medallion membership. The Delta SkyMiles Medallion program offers a wide range of benefits including upgrades, priority wait-listing, special check-in privileges, and preferred seating and boarding.
